THE STATUE

“A Tribute to Courage” the Sam Houston Statue was designed and constructed by artist David Adickes. He dedicated the statue to the City of Huntsville on October 22, 1994. It is the world’s tallest statue of an American Hero at 67 feet tall on a 10 foot sunset granite base.

• The Blue Lagoon

• Lake Livingston
US Hwy. 190. The Lake Livingston Recreational area is approximately a 90,000 surface acre reservoir on the Trinity River, spreading into three main counties, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity. The Lake is operated by the Trinity River Authority and the city of Houston, stretching 52 miles long and has a timbered shoreline of 450 miles devoted mainly to recreation.
